On 16th December 2020 we delivered an incredible 74 free festive tiffin tin afternoon teas. People in Moretonhampstead, Lustleigh, Chagford, Throwleigh, Dunsford and Christow received the tins filled with delicious homemade sandwiches and festive treats. This was made possible because local people and businesses donated all the ingredients we needed and volunteers did all the prep and deliveries. All the recipients received a blank postcard to write back to us. Here’s what one person said:
This is such a lovely idea! Gestures like the festive tea take on greater importance, especially for those of us who are alone. It's a great way of still feeling part of a community yet staying safe at home.
